Well the contest has ended and its time to decide who won. The award for the greatest factual representation goes to Trish because, in actuality, they are all named Chessie, after “Chessie the Sea Monster,” who supposedly lives out in the bay. I’m going to ignore this fact and give the true award to someone else as there is no room for fact in a contest like this.
The award for gathering the most pity/determination goes to LEC who apparently had to end a relationship after “Brad” wouldn’t ride the dragon boats.
So we have to then give some credit for some of the better theme suggestions such as the most infamous names in Baltimore baseball/politics and such as the cast of the movie Dogma.
Aleyor had some strong suggestions with Jowls and Gangrene, which I liked because they seemed like good names for Dragon boat bond villains.
I also really enjoyed Kat’s purple twin dragonboats which, despite their appearance are apparently neither identical nor of the same sex.
Chris gets points for managing to fit in Manrique along with one of the seven dwarfs and Cornholio.
So it appears as though I’ve awarded one of you ten points, another a gold star, and another one got a thumbs up. I’ve checked the conversion chart in my composition notebook and the winner is:
Elvis. Apparently the King is not dead, he is alive in Timonium and avidly reading the Sun sports page.
2nd Place: Aleyor, it’s hard to pass up some non-political wittiness, but it would have looked bad if I gave the award to the person who submitted the picture.
Today’s picture is self explanatory, as I wanted to write about the contest.
