Haven’t been to the beach yet this season so this is a pic from last summer, but I was thinking about it the other day.

I think I’ve posted a picture similar to this but, rest assured that this is a totally different view point of the sunset over the Assawoman bay.

Spending some time in Ocean City this past weekend, I have plenty of pictures to help the MDP community celebrate the summer.   I couldn’t help but take a picture of these inner tubes.

As a child, the concept of an inner tube as anything other than a pool toy seemed foreign to me.  The days of passenger tires with inner tubes had come and gone.  It wasn’t until I had my first flat bike tire that the “inner” in “inner tube” ever made sense.

At the Purple Moose Saloon in Ocean City there is a wall with row after row of these purple stuffed moose.   In my quest for something Purple in support of the Ravens tomorrow I was sort of unimpressed with my first try at a purple picture.  I wanted to visit to the Washington monument in Baltimore, assuming that it would be awash with a gaudy display of Raven’s purple.  When I arrived, I found that it had a purple light, but it was literally a single purple light and the single light looked odd when the rest of the monument was bathed in white.   So luckily there was purple moose that had escaped from the wall at the saloon in Ocean City to be a part of MDP’s participation in purple Friday.  Next Friday we’ll get real fancy!   

Just a note: MDP is taking off for MLK day, but will be back on Tuesday.

Here’s the lookout tower at the south end of Ocean City.   I like this picture becasue of the way the sun hits those flags.

In case anyone was wondering what a white marlin, or what fish in general, looklike.  Here’s an example.  

The biggest marlin was a little smaller than yesterday’s tuna weight, but if you go to the site you should check out the blue marlin pictures, as the blue marlin nearly reached 1000 lbs. 

Also of note, it was not me in the hat yesterday.  In fact, I failed to give photo credit to guest photographer Shelly, who was on location at the tournament while I was on location at my office. 

The White Marlin Open took place last week in Ocean City.  You can read more here, www.whitemarlinopen.com.  In the mean time today’s picture comes from the weigh in for the winner of the tuna category.   This was caught last thursday.  

You’ve probably all heard about the fire on the OC boardwalk this past month.  I wasn’t there, so I can’t show you a picture.  However, here is a shot of some guy in a red jacket.  On the left side, a block behind him, is the block where the fire happened.   You can see the Dough Roller Sign and the Rides sign for play land.

Well if there are two things I can’t get enough of, they are Esskay hot dogs and the ability to tell time.   I am unable to tell you if that is an official Esskay Oriole frank or not, but either way here it is
