Baltimore and Annapolis RR

Today we are stepping away from the snow pictures.  This is a picture of an engine from the now defunct Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad.  This particular engine now sits outside the B&O railroad museum.  The Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad was a short line running passengers and freight from Annapolis to just south of Baltimore where it connected with the B&O line to come into Baltimore.  There’s little I can tell you from my own knowledge, and though somewhat rare for me to do, I’m going to fully recommend that you visit the B&A Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltimore_and_Annapolis_Railroad it’s full of the history of the railroad, including a list of surviving stations.  I also find it interesting that much of the line is now part of the light rail line, and another part of the line is currently a popular rail-trail leading south from BWI.
