More Ruins?

pfi1s.jpg

Thought I was done with pictures of dilapidated buildings?  Think again.

Actually thise ruins have been reinforced or “stablilized” so that people can walk around them. This is the reason why I was in Ellicott City for Friday’s picture.  This is the Patapsco Female Institute ruins.    Unlike the National Park Seminary or Glenn Dale Hospital, these structures are in Howard county, which means that their stabilized ruins are protected by a barbed wire fence (barely visible in the bottom left corner) and are only accessible on the weekends. I was a little upset to find that out after I had travelled to Ellicott City on a weekday just to see this place.  However, I guess I have no choice but to return on a weekend.
