Another MDP Cliffhanger…What’s behind the fence?

Any guesses?    This was a picture from Saturday.  Kind of a hazy day after a rainy Fourth of July.

    As I understand it – those fences are used to control erosion.

    (also, i believe behind those fences is a magical land of garden gnomes.)
