Next to Wheaton Regional Park (future post) in Montgomery County is Brookside Gardens. While its not the largest botanical garden around, the grounds are well landscaped and the collection is very well kept. The gardens feature many different plants, a butterfly conservatory, a tea pagoda, an even a memorial. Most importantly the gardens feature this guy: the Black Eyed Susan.

Little known fact: the black eyed susan, while the state flower of Maryland is not a native species - it originates from the midwest.
