Baltimore City Hall

city-hall-cropped.JPG

Here is Baltimore’s City Hall as taken from my car stopped in rush hour traffic.   I really enjoyed the light in this picture.  It was the first I took that day as I left Baltimore and travelled south.  Fortunately for me, the sky remained that beautiful shade of blue for the entire day.  I’ll post more from this trip as the week progresses.

Construction for City Hall began in 1867 and the building was dedicated in 1875.  The architect, George A Frederick was only 22 when he designed the building.  How is that?  Well there was a contest, believe it or not, and Frederick won.
